What Veloz does

Mission

Veloz is a unique public-private nonprofit driving toward 100% zero-emission vehicles through strategic communications, unprecedented collaborations and purposeful convening.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. For this fiscal year, Veloz performed fundraising and strategic planning to prepare for the launch and implementation our next (national) public electric vehicle education program called electric for all 'the way forward is electric'. This campaigned was developed at the intersection of hollywood-style entertainment and best-in-class information to raise awareness, provide facts and provide direct access to complimentary tools that will help the public make their next ev purchase an easy one. The 2025-2026 the way forward is electric campaign followed in the footsteps of past campaigns, with a commitment to reaching all communities, a renewed focus on consumer education and creative concepts developed based on years of consumer research. Launching a campaign of this magnitude takes significant behind-the-scenes work. This included developing the campaign creative and media strategy, managing multiple agencies, reporting, working with our creative agency to execute the campaign, upgraded Veloz.org and electricforall.org to prepare for increased use, hired a research partner to help us track the campaign's impact, secured in-kind assets for production, working to identify a top-tier…

  2. Veloz's public summit series meetings: they are a gathering point for electric car stakeholders and Veloz members. Veloz summit attendees include representations from california utilities, transportation network companies, charging infrastructure, automakers, venture capital investors, nonprofits, government, start-ups, news media, international experts and many more. Veloz held summits in july 2024, october 2024, december 2024, february 2025 and march 2025. The goal is to address ev barriers and identify solutions to advance the electric for all ev movement. A typical Veloz summit has 250 attendees.

  3. Veloz digital dialogues/webinars: Veloz webinars were standouts in the crowded online engagement category. Between july 2024 - june 2025, Veloz held 3 webinars that typically have 150-200 attendees.

  4. Veloz now publishes a regular thought-leadership blog called 'the ride to zero', produces a quarterly ev market report, hosts three board meetings annually and more. 03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 3 funders, grant income rose $5 → $110k.

1 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of VELOZ’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

VELOZ leans on a few funders — its largest provides 84% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $31 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

These figures are read directly from IRS Form 990 / 990-PF e-file XML: this organization’s own return for FY2025 (financials across 2020–2025), and the filings of 5 funders that report grants to it. “On record” means captured in the filings we have parsed — a funder that does not e-file, or whose grant detail is not itemized, will not appear.
