What Tsavo Conservation Group Inc does
Mission
The purpose of tsavo conservation group (tcg) is to support and conduct wildlife conservation, environmental/habitat conservation and related humanitarian projects in africa, particularly focusing on helping to ensure that people living alongside wildlife benefit directly from its presence, thereby generating meaningful long-term incentives for people to protect wildlife and the natural environment. Across all its projects, tcg implements its holistic 'stabilization through conservation' approach, which aims to reconcile the needs of both humans and their natural environment by co-developing the mutually beneficial elements of sustainable natural resource use and human stability.
As stated on its FY2022 Form 990-EZ.
Program
Tcg field work focused predominantly on two key areas of southern kenya's greater tsavo ecosystem: taita-taveta county and tana river county, both of which border the tsavo national parks (taita to the west and tana river to the east). Both areas are populated by indigenous people coexisting with wildlife and are strategically key to ensuring the ecological integrity of the wider tsavo ecosystem, including providing an important buffer for the tsavo national parks, home to kenya's largest elephant population.tcg works predominantly as a stewardship/mentoring organization, partnering with local communities and local government to help ensure that conservation solutions are driven by the key stakeholders in their focus areas and not by external elements. By deploying professional stewardship teams whose members combine international expertise with local knowledge, tcg provides planning, strategic and logistical support to its conservation partners, and a bridge to technical expertise and resources.the tsavo region continued to suffer extreme climatic fluctuations (droughts followed by floods) during the year, and tcg was actively involved in the disbursement of disaster relief…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2017 to 2018, from $568k to $364k (−36%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
0% of TSAVO CONSERVATION GROUP INC’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (92% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.
1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 2% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is
TSAVO CONSERVATION GROUP INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 98% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
TSAVO CONSERVATION GROUP INC draws 100% of its grant income from funders outside New York, across 1 state in all.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $8k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
