Mission

The mission of the organization is to serve as an animal rescue dedicated to saving dogs and cats from high kill-shelters, facilitating rescued animals.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. The organization's accomplishments for 2024 include the following:We helped local shelters in Hew Haven County with/by taking in some of their small dogs in our rescue, then vetting them and getting them adopted. We have helped numerous owner surrender dogs when the owner could no longer care for their pets due to being elderly or losing their homes or cannot afford vet bills. We helped the girl scouts put together a little book on adopting shelter pets. We are a strong advocate for spay/neuter early programs. We have a relationship with a local vet for low cost spay/neuter. We have also formed a close relationship with pet food for our intakes.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 2 funders, grant income rose $6k → $37k.

3 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 19% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of TLC Sweet Souls Rescue Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $28k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
