01What it does

What Summer Grace Foundation Inc does

Mission

To raise awareness of pediatric cancers, to raise funds for pediatric cancer research, and to support the childhood cancer community.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Summer helps: many childhood cancer families face extreme financial hardship due to the overwhelming cost of their childs treatment. Many families instantly become a one-income household, as the other parent takes on the role of a 24/7 caregiver. Through our program, summer helps, the summer grace foundation provides financial assistance for basic, essential needs.

  2. Rockstar warriors: rockstar warriors is a program designed to address the mental health needs of local, hospitalized children and teens with cancer. The majority of the children we support face major stress, cognitive impairment caused by treatment, or anxiety & depression related to living with their illness. Our program, rockstar warriors, addresses the challenges of these mental health issues by providing musical instruments and on-line lessons for children and teens with cancer and for hospitals with existing music therapy programs.

  3. Sunshine drops: throughout the year, the summer grace foundation supports inova childrens hospital by delivering packages of toys & comfort/care items to children with cancer and other serious health conditions, as well packages of personal care products for their caregivers for emergency or unexpected hospital stays.
