What Spectrum in Motion Dance Theater Ensemble Inc does
Mission
Making dance! Growing dancers! And building community! Our mission is twofold: First we provide an exemplary dance education program for under-served, under-resourced children and youth who could not otherwise afford this type of programming; and second, we create and present multi-cultural professional dance performances. Our school year and summer programs include an academic curriculum known as Dance and Anthropology for teens. It should be noted that we have excluded the value of donated studio space and donated services from our income and expense statements. Our grant income is allocated to our education programs. We make no grants to others.

Programs
Stretching for Life is our school year multi-cultural dance education program that serves up to 500 children and youth each year. It is a rigorous, sequential learning program that is offered at low or no cost to the participants. Classes are offered three afternoons per week and on weekends, serving primarily Hartford residents. We have successfully provided this program using both virtual and in-person classes. The program offers several performance opportunities during the school year. $74,015.
