01What it does

What Sierra Cares Foundation does

Mission

Orphan Care and Trafficking Victim support and resources in West Africa.-0

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Working toward sustainable living for women and children vulnerable to poverty, disease, and lack of education, many Sierra Leonean women and children seek jobs in countries like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, hoping to find steady work and send money home. Unfortunately, many are deceived and enslaved in horrific working conditions, becoming victims of labor and sex trafficking. Most never make it back. Those who do often face rejection from their families and communities due to the abuse they endured, visible injuries, deformities, or pregnancies. Sierra Cares Foundation aims to educate communities to prevent more women from being trafficked to the Middle East, and to protect children from being forced into labor, child marriage, or prostitution. We served 169 orphaned kids in 2024 and 1500 Migrant/refugee women and men who were trapped in the Middle East in Human Trafficking.

Each line starts at 100 in 2024, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2024, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
