Program

After a tumultuous 2020-21 due to the pandemic that resulted in facility closures, Race Swami resumed it's pre-pandemic stride by serving families in numerous capacities-from the pool to the classroom. Race Swami served a record 176 children with the newly expanded swami swim school, offering at-risk, low income children ranging in ages 2 to 14 free swimming lessons. All told, it was an exciting year for the program, continuing its mission in offering quality coaching and life-changing mentorship. 2023 will be Race Swami's 12th year serving the communities of the westside.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base held at 6 funders, grant income rose $91k → $114k.

3 of 10 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 15% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is

RACE SWAMI leans on a few funders — its largest provides 52% of grant income and the top three 78%; half comes from just 1 funder.
