01What it does

What Players of the Stage Inc does

Mission

Players of the stage is a non-profit christian youth theater that has raised more than $272,000 for local charities in the lehigh valley. Players of the stage exists to celebrate god's glory by developing the unique character, voice and talents of actors through staging entertaining and thought-provoking productions and to support, through its proceeds, humanitarian organizations in the lehigh valley.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Summer camp program. Every summer, players of the stage offers four one-week camps for children ages 5-18. Players of the stage averages approximately 25 campers per week in june, july and august. During each week, acting, singing, staging, stage crew, costuming and production education is offered. This enables many aspects of theater experiences to be seen and learned by children of all ages. At the end of each camp, a production for the community is performed where the children can demonstrate their theater skills.

  2. Players of the stage produced amateurs as its spring show and alice's adventures in wonderland as its fall show. 12 talented students performed amateurs. Three shows were offered. After each performance a donation was taken for bloom for women inc, a local charity which offers sanctuary and a continuum of care to heal, empower and employ survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. A total of $4037 was donated to bloom for women. Alice's adventures in wonderland was performed 8 times by 30 talented actors. After each performance a donation was taken for allentown h.o.p.e kids whose goal is to inspire underprivileged and disadvantaged children ages 5-12 who reside in inner city allentown to a better future through gospel-centered community services and programs. A total of $4589 was raised for h.o.p.e. Kids. A representative from each charity attends each performance and gives some information on what their organization does to support the community. This gives the actors a chance to see the good that can be done in their community by using and sharing their god-given talents.

  3. Camp hope. Although camp hope is not one of the most expensive endeavors, it probably receives more excitement than any other. Each summer, players of the stage offers a three-day theater camp for inner-city youth in allentown, pa. This camp is totally free to the campers and is held at a local church, in the inner-city. Almost all of the work, food and other necessities is donated by the players of the stage family at large. Players of the stage provides all of the meals, snacks, time and educaton to children who are living in poverty in allentown. These children would not be able to afford to attend a camp for theater. Players of the stage believes that theater should be accessible to everyone regardless of their ability to pay, and players of the stage works hard to give this three day camp to its community. The camp averages about 25 students each year. Older teens from the players of the stage community volunteer to help with the younger attendees. This teaches players of the stage students other ways that their talents can support their communities.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of PLAYERS OF THE STAGE INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of PLAYERS OF THE STAGE INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $409 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
