01What it does

What Pilgrim Ministries Inc does

Mission

Pilgrim ministries is a discipleship ministry who specializes in helping men break the addiction of drugs and alcohol through a relationship with the lord jesus christ. We provide the residential and the after care phases of the ministry for the men. Phase I is the 6 month residential phase and phase ii begins the 6 months of the after-care phase. The men can then enter phase iii where they are given more responsibility as far as helping to over see one of the houses and the day to day operation of a household.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

On its FY2023 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

Organization closed down and donated all assets to other 501(c)3 organizations

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Pilgrim ministries is a faith-based discipleship ministry that provides men with a place of residency to receive instruction and teaching to overcome drug and alcohol addiction. Once the twelve month program is completed the men can choose to remain at the ministry to continue to grow and be discipled in the after care phase of the ministry for an additional twelve months. Pilgrim ministries gives men an option to live in a christian environment and allows them time to put the knowledge they have received from their residential instruction and teaching into everyday practice while starting their new life in christ.

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 6 funders, grant income rose $12k → $35k.

2 of 8 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of PILGRIM MINISTRIES INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

PILGRIM MINISTRIES INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 48% of grant income and the top three 95%; half comes from just 2 funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $883 arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
