01What it does

What Peace Through Commerce Inc does

Mission

Peace Through Commerce is a strategic global and educational organization dedicated to creating a world where all people enjoy peace and prosperity. We use our proprietary Matrix of Peace Services for society building, peacebuilding, and problem-solving.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Matrix of Peace education, training and implementation. This framework embodies our peacebuilding technology. It is a multi-sector, whole-systems, consciousness-raising framework for designing and actualizing peaceful societies. We have used it in our co-partnerships with the Norwegian Nobel Institute. We have also used it as our training model with incubators Shakti Leadership and Alumni and Donors Unite. The biggest activity this year has been the near completion of a three-volume treatise on the framework. Volumes 1,2 and 3 cover Matrix theory, model and technology, respectively. The books are slated for publication in Spring 2025. The book has received a foreward by John Mackey, co-founder of Whole Foods Market and Love.Life, and an afterword by Dr. Timothy Fort, 2024 Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Expenses for consulting fees and rent: noncash $86,379. Revenue: noncash donation: $86,379

  3. The Matrix of Peace Show. We launched this live-streamed show in November 2023. It is produced by public broadcasting nonprofit ThinkTech Hawaii, Inc. ThinkTech Hawaii is a Hawaii nonprofit founded in 2001 and dedicated to raising public awareness through civic engagement by citizen journalist hosts and guests on digital media platforms. ThinkTech has produced many thousands of talk shows and short feature movies and streams 30 live talk shows every week covering subjects of interest to the Hawaii community and beyond. Peace Through Commerce produced its first two shows in 2023. They showcased the work of our Israeli and Palestinian partners in Israel in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023 invasion of Israel by Hamas. The second show earned an award for "Best Guest." This was a huge honor for our guest, our work with the guest and our work with the new show. 03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $5k → $51.

4 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 75% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of PEACE THROUGH COMMERCE INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

PEACE THROUGH COMMERCE INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 42% of grant income and the top three 80%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

75% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund PEACE THROUGH COMMERCE INC.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2018 100% · 2020 100% · 2021 71% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

75% of PEACE THROUGH COMMERCE INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $30k that is directly attributable, 83% of it comes from funders outside Texas, across 2 states.

TX

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $88k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
