What One Roof Foundation does
Mission
One Roof Foundation envisions a more equitable society and a healthy planet where all people can realize a brighter future. The foundation advances equity and sustainability by increasing opportunities to thrive for our most vulnerable young people and communities. The foundation's mission is centered around three pillars: youth access to play, youth homelessness, and environmental justice.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
Youth access to play: One Roof Foundation leverages resources to create access and opportunity in hockey and life for marginalized and bipoc youth and communities. The foundation brings hockey to historically underserved and bipoc communities by providing financial assistance to individuals, equipment donations, and ball hockey training to title I schools and youth-focused nonprofits; and ensures equitable access to ice time and programming at kraken community iceplex . The foundation partners with refugee women's alliance (rewa) to provide a free 32-week learn to skate program for children, including transportation to and from the ice rink. This program was a result of community studies that showed cost and transportation as major barriers to hockey access. Holistically the program is a 3-year cycle that sees skaters advance to hockey or figure skating programs at kraken community iceplex, to establish greater equity in hockey and instill confidence and leadership in kids from diverse and low-income families. The foundation also provides grants and support to a variety of nonprofit organizations with missions that are aligned with our youth access to play pillar.

The foundation raises funds for youthcare and community passageways to provide shelter, housing, education, and employment training to thousands of young people each year. The foundation amplifies their message to our fans and the broader community through news articles and social media channels; and works closely with the seattle kraken and climate pledge arena to provide job trainings, internships, and employment opportunities at their different facilities to help in the fight against youth homelessness. The foundation also provides grants and support to a variety of nonprofit organizations with missions that are aligned with our youth homelessness pillar.
$495,135 spentof which $474,500 as grants20% of program spendingEnvironmental justice: One Roof Foundation elevates the voices of and supports communities disproportionately impacted by climate change. Low-income and predominately bipoc neighborhoods in our region face a higher degree of environmental risk factors including air pollution, unsafe drinking water, risk of flood, and poor infrastructure. The foundation partners with and supports these communities to both offset the impacts of climate change and provide access to safe places to play. Support is provided in a variety of ways - including cleanup of the impacted areas, sponsorship of the duwamish river community coalition river festival, renovation of skyway park, and raising awareness via articles and social media channels. The foundation also provides grants and support to a variety of nonprofit organizations with missions that are aligned with our environmental justice pillar.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $48k to $1.8M (+3683%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2021 0% · 2022 0% · 2023 1% · 2024 4% · 2025 1%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
88% of ONE ROOF FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (82% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2021 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 9 funders, grant income rose $25k → $294k.
6 of 14 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 70% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of ONE ROOF FOUNDATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
ONE ROOF FOUNDATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 55% of grant income and the top three 73%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
70% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund ONE ROOF FOUNDATION.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2021 80% · 2022 34% · 2023 68% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
70% of ONE ROOF FOUNDATION's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $224k that is directly attributable, 85% of it comes from Washington funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $532k arriving through sponsors registered in 6 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
