The majority of nccs clients speak spanish or portuguese, and many experience heightened vulnerability related to immigration status, economic instability, and trauma.in 2025, nccs partnered with somerville public schools through its embedded counseling program to provide mental health services to uninsured and underinsured immigrant students. Nccs also continued its collaboration with the next wave/full circle public alternative middle and high school in somerville, offering counseling services to students with complex academic and social-emotional needs.to expand access while strengthening the future mental health workforce, nccs hosted graduate-level counseling interns, including a first-year social work student from syracuse university and two advanced mental health counseling students from cambridge college.
