01What it does

What Morgan's Mercy Mansion does

Mission

The organizations primary purpose is to help women get free from drug and alcohol addiction. It is a six-month in house program that focuses on filling the women with the word of god to help overcome their addictions through daily bible studies, licensed counseling, teaching programs, and parenting classes. It provides transportation to educational facilities for those who want to further their education or get their ged. It also provides housing and an aftercare program to help the women look for work if they have no other home to go to or need extra support to help ease them back in to society. It's main focus is to teach the word of god and help build a strong foundation for the women to be able to turn to god's word for help instead of drugs and alcohol.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Provides housing, food and clothing for women who are addicted to alcohol and/or drugs. The program houses the women for 6 months so they can be cared for and taught how to overcome addictions and live their lives as a productive member of society. We have had an 83% success rate with these women. We house a maximum of 16 women at a time. We always have a waiting list for women who want to go through this program.

  2. The program provides in house teaching and daily classes to educate the women on how to overcome their addiction through the love of jesus. They are required to attend 8 hours of classes five days a week.the classes consist of parenting classes, cooking classes, cleaning and hygiene classes and most of all bible studies on how to overcome addiction and become strong women of god.

  3. We have three houses on the property to provide aftercare for the women who need extra time to transition after graduating the program and who have children who need to renew their bond with their mothers and learn how to be a family again. The houses are provided to help teach the women how to provide for themselves and their children. The houses provide enough rooms for 6 families to live until they are ready to be on their own with their families. This has been an extremely successful aftercare program as the women have to be accountable for their income as well as being taught how to budget and maintain a household while being on their own. They are still required to attend church and certain aftecare classes to keep them full of the word of god so they are not tempted to go back into their addiction.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 1% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of MORGAN'S MERCY MANSION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

MORGAN'S MERCY MANSION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 99% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund MORGAN'S MERCY MANSION.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Where its funders are

100% of MORGAN'S MERCY MANSION's grant income comes from Texas funders.

TX

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $89 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
