Mission
Wildflower is an ecosystem of decentralized montessori micro-schools that support children, teachers, and parents. Our schools aspire to give all children and families the opportunity to choose high quality, beautiful learning environments as they follow life's unfolding journey.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Program
Minnesota Wildflower Montessori School is comprised of three micro- montessori school sites that serve preschool through 3rd grade students from socioeconomically and racially diverse backgrounds. Lirio montessori partners with families to provide children from underrepresented communities, in particular communities or the global majority, access to a high-quality two-way immersion of montessori education that fosters independence, love of self, and participation in the community. Cosmos montessori collaborates with families to offer an authentic montessori environment serving children from age three through 3rd grade. Cosmos supports language acquisition in both spanish and english and cultural competency development for children within a nurturing and multicultural environment. Water lily montessori serves to educate children and families with the philosophy of montessori education, that allows both the development and application of thee skills and resources that are aligned with creating and sustaining a community that is founded on peace, love, and respect for each other and all of life.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $1.2M to $1.8M (+52%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2019 38% · 2020 30% · 2021 49% · 2022 46% · 2023 58% · 2024 57% · 2025 67%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
85% of MINNESOTA WILDFLOWER MONTESSORI SCHOOL’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (48% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 3 funders, grant income rose $100k → $156k.
5 of 8 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 16% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of MINNESOTA WILDFLOWER MONTESSORI SCHOOL’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 7 of 8 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
MINNESOTA WILDFLOWER MONTESSORI SCHOOL leans on a few funders — its largest provides 50% of grant income and the top three 89%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund MINNESOTA WILDFLOWER MONTESSORI SCHOOL.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2019 89% · 2020 59% · 2021 87% · 2022 52% · 2023 89% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of MINNESOTA WILDFLOWER MONTESSORI SCHOOL's grant income comes from Minnesota funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $186k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
