This organization had been filing form 990-N for atleast the past 16 years so no activities have been listed. This form 990 will give more information regarding the activities and purpose of this organization. Please view page Page 2, Part III, Statement of Program Service Accomplishments for more detailed explanation.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

  1. One of the primary goals of this organization is to preserve historical items donated to this museum. It collects, protects, and exhibits the material culture of Meigs County. This requires facilities which are dry (no water leaks), low to no humidity, temperature controlled, and adequate storage space. In fiscal year 10/1/2023 to 9/30/2024, this organization received a $250,000 grant for capital improvements. Every expenditure has to be accounted for and must be related to the overall purpose of the grant. During this fiscal year some capital improvements to the museum included a new ceiling in the generations (geneology) room, Ceiling for Hall completion, Roof Repairs, and various other renovations. These improvements will allow for the preservation of the historical items entrusted to the care of this organization.

The museum publishes histories, genealogical research and other books of local and regional historical interest. Genealogical research assistance is provided as well as family history workshops.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $161 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
