01What it does

What Healthed Connect Inc does

Mission

Healthed connect empowers women and children through evidence-based health, education, and advocacy programs.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. Healthed connect empowers women and children through evidence-based health, education, and advocacy programs. We accomplish this mission by training and partnering with community health volunteers (chv) in democratic republic of congo, zambia, malawi, and nepal to identify and address issues of basic health and education from the grass roots level. These women (and several men) are the heroes with the desire to improve the health and wellbeing of their communities. In 2024 healthed connect supported health and education initiatives in 60 communities through the efforts of 175 chv. During the year, 147,548 children under age five were weighed and monitored to ensure growth and development; 3,473 healthy babies were delivered; 26,034 children were immunized; 133,120 mothers were taught about health, nutrition, sanitation, and family planning; and 12,060 home care visits were made. Collectively, chv provided 51,272 volunteer hours of care in their communities. In our three community school partner programs in zambia, 1,580 orphans and vulnerable children were enrolled, receiving quality primary education, and 248,549 hot lunches were provided to students. 5,698 books were checked out…

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 5 funders, grant income rose $7k → $83k.

7 of 7 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of HEALTHED CONNECT INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

HEALTHED CONNECT INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 36% of grant income and the top three 79%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund HEALTHED CONNECT INC.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2018 100% · 2019 100% · 2020 70% · 2021 42% · 2022 42% · 2023 35% — diversifying over time.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of HEALTHED CONNECT INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $387k arriving through sponsors registered in 6 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
