What Healing Kadi Foundation does
Mission
HKF is a Christian faith-centered organization working with South Sudanese to provide sustainable high-quality healthcare, education for healthcare providers, and psychological and spiritual counseling. The mission is accomplished by our doctors and nurses providing medicine and using their skills in a medical clinic. We also provide job skills training by supplementing the staff's educational tuition and fees to increase knowledge for the local medical workforce.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Salaries and stipends for doctors and staff at the HKF Marilyn Miller Memorial Clinic in South Sudan to provide medical services. The Healing Kadi Foundation-US raises funds to cover the salaries of the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other personnel who form our medical team in South Sudan. Although there were no specific gifts designated for salaries of the clinic personnel, the general funds and other fund-raising events covered the cost each month.
$180,169 spent$180,169 earned by the program61% of program spendingMission Trip and Orphanages: Each year doctors, nurses, and medical staff from the United States travel to Uganda and South Sudan to assist and provide training to our HKF staff in those countries. The mission trip was made early in the year where they provided valuable help, training, and assistance in working with patients during the two weeks they were present in the two countries. The mission group also visited several orphanages and a school donating $6,000 for the care of children as well as giving medicine and encouragement to children and staff and $7,000 to help with school operation needs.
$75,355 spent$84,210 earned by the program26% of program spendingMedicine: One of the main expenses of a medical clinic is the purchase of medicine for patients to fulfill our mission of providing quality healthcare to the South Sudanese people living in the refugee camps in Northern Uganda as well as those who returned to their homes in South Sudan. Each month we provide funds that have been raised to purchase medicine and medical equipment as needed for the clinic.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $396k to $800k (+102%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
45% of HEALING KADI FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (82% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 5 funders, grant income rose $15k → $53k.
3 of 11 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 36% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of HEALING KADI FOUNDATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 10 of 11 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
HEALING KADI FOUNDATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 34% of grant income and the top three 80%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
52% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund HEALING KADI FOUNDATION.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 67% · 2018 100% · 2019 37% · 2020 35% · 2021 44% · 2022 58% · 2023 38% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
50% of HEALING KADI FOUNDATION's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 64% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
98% of HEALING KADI FOUNDATION's grant income comes from Nebraska funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $135k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
