Mission

HEAL Humanity Empathy Animal Love Foundation provides grants and financial assistance to reduce canine homelessness and create a more humane world. Under our HUMANITY mission we provide need-based financial assistance and grants to owners of dogs requiring spay and neuter services to avoid pet overpopulation and veterinary care, so pets and families can stay together. Our EMPATHY mission focuses on the root causes of violence and cruelty in society and BUILD UP OUR YOUTH through humane education and participation in our TeachHEAL programs. Our ANIMAL LOVE mission is committed to reducing canine homelessness, animal cruelty, and shelter euthanasia rates by partnering with and providing grants, funding and resources to 501(c)(3) animal welfare organizations specifically for spay and neuter programs.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. We believe that sterilization is the only proven method that improves animal well-being in the short, medium and long term. Our aim to make spay and neuter services available to low-income families and stray animals from rescuers and feeders to avoid unwanted litters in South Texas. We have greatly expanded our sterilization program helping over 200 dogs and providing dog food to several families and independent rescuers and feeders. We have been at the forefront of addressing and recognizing that spaying and neutering pets is a critical component that helps with the burden on pet owners, who may not otherwise have the means to afford these procedures. We strategically collaborate with local veterinarians, shelters, and community organizations in South Texas to enhance our rescue and spay/neuter efforts. We are dedicated to increasing access to affordable spay/neuter services for pet owners across Texas, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent responsible pet care. We are committed to reducing the overpopulation of stray animals and helping pet owners in the Rio Grande Valley through dedicated rescue operations and spay/neuter initiatives. This initiative also included…

The payments were made directly to the treating veterinary facility for family pets with a good prognosis for recovery. We were successful in saving all 36 of these dogs, who may otherwise have been euthanized or surrendered (enter the shelter system) due to lack of funds for treatment. All these pets have recovered and are healthy, living happily with their families.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2018 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 3 funders, grant income rose $14k → $34k.

5 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of H E A L HUMANITY EMPATHY ANIMAL LOVE FOUNDATION INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

H E A L HUMANITY EMPATHY ANIMAL LOVE FOUNDATION INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 75% of grant income and the top three 97%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund H E A L HUMANITY EMPATHY ANIMAL LOVE FOUNDATION INC.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2018 100% · 2020 100% · 2021 98% · 2022 100% · 2023 70% — diversifying over time.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of H E A L HUMANITY EMPATHY ANIMAL LOVE FOUNDATION INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $40 that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from New York funders.

NY

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $203k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
