What Grant Park Conservancy Inc does
Mission
The Grant Park Conservancy is committed to the restoration, beautification and maintenance of historic Grant Park.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
The Grant Park Conservancy maintains Grant Park in conjunction with the City of Atlanta and hosts Project G.R.A.N.T. work days in the Park. Work days are an opportunity to educate volunteers, build support in the neighborhood, and make an environmental impact. Volunteers remove debris, non-native plant species and invasive vines. They also spread mulch to protect the trees, help with pruning and weeding to keep sightlines open, and pick up trash. These efforts keep the Park clean, healthy and safe.
The Grant Park Conservancy hosts programming and fundraising events to build awareness of the Organization's role in restoring, beautifying, and maintaining Grant Park as well as to raise funds to support the Organization's work. Each year, the Organization sponsors the Summer Shade Festival, a free two-day festival in the Park where attendees enjoy live music, an artists market and food trucks.
$236,056 spent$220,583 earned by the program22% of program spendingThe Grant Park Conservancy works to create a world-class park by raising funds to execute specific capital improvements and ecological projects restoring and improving the Park's natural health and built enviroment. Projects include the restoration of historic structures, such as the 1927 Millege Fountain, the circa 1885 Lion Bridge and the 1896 Erskine Fountain. Other improvement projects that enchance both the beauty and functionality of the Park are the creation of welcoming gathering spaces with pedestrian plazas, picnic areas and play spaces. Ecological projects include the design, installation and maintenance of gardens at renovated sites including a rain garden at the Lion Bridge and a daffodil project garden at the Erskine Fountain.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $686k to $1.2M (+68%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 10% · 2021 12% · 2023 2%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
71% of Grant Park Conservancy Inc’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (18% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 3 funders to 4 funders, grant income rose $62k → $503k.
3 of 20 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 15% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of Grant Park Conservancy Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
Grant Park Conservancy Inc leans on a few funders — its largest provides 47% of grant income and the top three 64%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
31% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Grant Park Conservancy Inc.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 56% · 2018 100% · 2019 69% · 2020 83% · 2021 82% · 2022 75% · 2023 99% — growing more concentrated.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
29% of Grant Park Conservancy Inc's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 35% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
89% of Grant Park Conservancy Inc's grant income comes from Georgia funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $162k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
