What Global Health Media Project Limited does
Mission
To design and produce high-quality videos and animation to train health workers and teach communities in low-resource settings.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Emergency care: High-quality teaching videos can help close the significant gap in training tools available for emergency care providers. These videos cover basic emergency care including immediate care of severely ill children wound care fracture management burn care airway management and other skills and procedures. We started laying the groundwork for the series in 2022. In 2023 we were involved in pre-production activities and filmed at several locations in Nepal in late 2023 and early 2024. We produced and published the first set of videos for community responders in 2024 and secured clinical sites for additional filming. We also expanded the project to include nearly 100 emergency care topics in collaboration with WHO.
$235,282 spent87% of program spendingThe Story of Sugar: Inspired by our work on diabetes we launched this animation in the latter part of 2022 to address the harmful effects of sugar and processed food help people understand diabetes and show those at risk the lifestyle changes that promote better health. The Story of Sugar joins our three other "Story of" animations on cholera Ebola and coronavirus which have been watched hundreds of millions of times worldwide. To make the messages more effective in changing behavior our animations are done in a realistic style that captures human expression so that people emotionally connect with the story and health messages. In 2024 the video was completed and published and we began narrating it in other languages.
$15,250 spent6% of program spendingNurturing care: We produced a series of videos on ideal responsive care and early learning practices to support counselors in improving their understanding of these behaviors so that they can better counsel and support caregivers. The videos serve as training tools to help counselors improve their skills and can be used in training programs or for self-learning. The project was launched and nearly completed in 2023 including scripting and pre-production filming in over 100 households and community settings in Ghana and the Kyrgyz Republic and editing and post-production of the videos. In addition to English the videos have been published in Arabic French Kyrgyz Portuguese Russian and Spanish. Some of the work in wrapping up these languages and publishing and distributed the videos was finalized in 2024.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $758k to $875k (+15%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
69% of Global Health Media Project Limited’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (64% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 3 funders, grant income rose $11k → $172k.
4 of 7 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 22% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of Global Health Media Project Limited’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
Global Health Media Project Limited leans on a few funders — its largest provides 44% of grant income and the top three 78%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
38% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Global Health Media Project Limited.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2018 100% · 2019 100% · 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 69% · 2023 90% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
Global Health Media Project Limited draws 100% of its grant income from funders outside Vermont, across 2 states in all.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $313k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
