Programs

  1. Direct support to Glades Academy, Inc. in Pahokee, FL which serves young children from kindergarden through 8th grade and has been in continuous operation since 2000. The funds were used by the school to purchase educational materials, and for the general support of academic programs where money from the school district was not sufficient to support the day to day academic programs needed for a school in this disadvantaged area of Palm Beach County. This elementary and middle school located on the campus of New Hope Charities has state of the art classrooms, learning labs, and other enhanced day and after school programs. At present over 235 students annually receive their academic experience from highly credentialed teachers and school leaders. The school continues to excel in all areas.

The teachers and staff of Everglades Preparatory Academy serve approximately 120 students annually from the communities near eastern Lake Okeechobee and provide enriched academic support in a safe school setting, which has included community serving summer programs for many years. 03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 9 funders to 27 funders, grant income rose $243k → $318k.

4 of 61 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 13% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Glades Academy Foundation Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 30 of 61 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $323k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
