What Free Flow Nm Inc does
Mission
Since 2020, Free Flow NM has been dedicated to reducing period poverty and stigma around menstruation through seven key programs focused on education and distribution of menstrual supplies. Period poverty means that millions of individuals with periods are subjected to injustice and inequity due to menstruation. There is no federal program that assists with the costs of period products. EBT, WIC, and SNAP do not cover menstrual products, which are considered luxury items. Consequently, 1 in 3 low-income individuals with periods report missing work, school, or similar events due to inadequate access to period supplies. We aim to bridge this gap so individuals can stay fully engaged in their lives.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Program
On its FY2025 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.
Period Cupboard Program This program provides free period products in existing community spaces places people already know and feel comfortable visiting. At the heart of the program is choice. Participants select the products that work best for their bodies and flow, and each person receives a six-month supply. That extended access allows people to exhale instead of navigating month-to-month uncertainty, and helps reduce real barriers long drives, missed work, limited store options, and unpredictable schedules particularly in rural communities.
Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).
Product Distribution Program 1. General Distribution Each month volunteers build period kits filled with a monthly supply of period products. The kits are distributed to 165+ community organizations across northern New Mexico. 2. Period Pods Similar to the Little Libraries you may find in your community, our pods are filled with period kits. Each kit contains a 1-month supply of menstrual products. These innovative pods provide year-round access to products, ensuring that anyone can obtain them with complete anonymity. There are no forms to fill out or registration required, reducing barriers for individuals to access essential period products. We currently have 13 Period Pods, with 5 more planned for 2026. Existing Pods: Santa Fe La Farge Library, Santa Fe Southside Library, ReUnity Community Cupboard, Ortiz Mountain Health Center (Cerrillos), Green Village Grocers (Madrid), Española Public Library, Nambe Pueblo Wellness Center, Pojoaque Pueblo Wellness Center, Santa Fe Downtown Library, Tewa Women United, Blue Door Neighborhood Center (South Valley ABQ), Mesa (Taos), Taos 3. The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $36k to $99k (+174%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
99% of FREE FLOW NM INC’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (91% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2021 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 4 funders, grant income rose $58 → $35k.
3 of 9 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 32% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of FREE FLOW NM INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
FREE FLOW NM INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 46% of grant income and the top three 83%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
45% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund FREE FLOW NM INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 36% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
93% of FREE FLOW NM INC's grant income comes from New Mexico funders.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $42k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
