What Environmental Education Assoc of Nm does

Mission

Through implementing an advocacy-focused movement as well as advancing collaboration and leadership, eenm will ensure every nm child has equitable access to environmental and outdoor learning.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Environmental education association of nm (dba environmental education of new mexico, eenm) is the only statewide organization that advances advocacy, collaboration and leadership to ensure that every new mexico child has daily equitable access to the outdoors and environmental learning. Annually, eenm supports a network of over 160 organizations serving 270,000+ new mexican students (prek-12th grade) including teachers, educators, parents, and unlikely allies in related fields like outdoor recreation, education, local food, conservation, and environmental justice. In 2021 released a strategic vision for the community of new mexico outdoor and environmental learning providers called every kid every day every way. Eenm co-facilitated an interagency task force on outdoor learning named through legislative action, launched an annual outdoor learning week initiative, and provided a series of recommendations from that task force to the legislature that led to additional outdoor learning initiatives in 2022. Additionally, eenm continued to host online community gatherings, and designed and facilitated a second year of the eenm fellowship program.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 5 funders, grant income rose $750 → $75k.

1 of 9 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $150 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
