What Engineers for a Sustainable World does
Mission
ESW works to forge innovative, lasting solutions to local and global sustainability challenges. We design and implement sustainable projects through our student and professional chapters, educate and train individuals and organizations on sustainable policies and practices, and build a global network of communities with a shared culture of sustainability.

Programs
We supported a growing network of 50 affiliated (but legally separate) chapters, supporting their efforts to design and implement sustainability-oriented projects on campuses, in communities, and abroad. Volunteer staff members had one on one calls with chapter leaders, hosted group calls on leadership approaches and project ideas, and provided other support.

The goal is to train students in engineering to tackle large social issues and understand their ethical responsibilities as technical experts and environmental stewards. Having engineers and community members work side-by-side is crucial to building a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable world. Build Day has served eight underserved communities since 2018. The impact of Build Day includes directly serving 1,500 community members, contributing over 1,685 volunteer hours, and trained over 100 students.
