01What it does

What Back in His Arms Again does

Mission

Believing that every life is precious and deserving of respect, Back in His Arms Again (bihaa) serves families experiencing the loss of a child through miscarriage, still birth, sid's or illness through faith, prayer, education and compassion. As an ecumenical lay ministry based on catholic morality that honors life from conception to natural death, our mission is to help provide a proper and dignified burial for all babies and assist with emotional, spiritual, and physical support for grieving families.

As stated on its FY2021 Form 990-EZ.

Program

We offer services such as coordination of funeral home and cemetery, providing burial layettes and vaults, and food for the families, as well as any other needs that the family may have. Our ministry has many non-monetary resources that can come together to ensure that a family's wishes are honored. We seek to educate clergy and the medical community and to create or reaffirm the awareness that all life is deserving of a proper burial.

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 2 funders, grant income fell $38k → $11k.

2 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is

BACK IN HIS ARMS AGAIN leans on a few funders — its largest provides 89% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund BACK IN HIS ARMS AGAIN.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $228k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
