01What it does

What Alamogordo Main Street does

Mission

Alamogordo MainStreet is fully dedicated to the preservation, enhancement, beautification, and economic development of our historic downtown district with respect to local culture and heritage.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2023 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.

Through local government grant funding, Alamogordo Mainstreet was able to offer an Accelerator program. This program assisted in the creation of three new small businesses in our downtown district. The program directly ties back to the organization's mission to enhance our downtown.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

  1. The accelerator program provided a storefront and utility services to the creation of three small businesses in the mainstreet district. The program also acted as a mentor to these new businesses in how to open and operate successfully.

  2. Alley clean up and maintenance in the downtown district. By making the alleyways more attractive and assessable it created a safer environment for customers to reach businesses.

  3. Side Street Art is a program initiated to beautify the downtown district by painting murals depicting the town's history.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $90 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
