01What it does

What A Child Is Missing Inc does

Mission

Support law enforcement in finding missing children, juveniles, elderly, disabled and other vulnerable persons. Safety education in summer camps for ages 5-14, focusing on personal safety, anti-bullying, and internet safety.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. Our a child is missing alert program aids law enforcement in florida and nationwide by issuing telephone alert calls and alert text messages to find missing children (including those who have run away), juveniles, elderly individuals (often with alzheimer's), disabled persons, and other vulnerable individuals during the critical first hours of their disappearance. Our goal is to support law enforcement officers in the safe recovery of these individuals, thereby facilitating the reunification of families. The organization also offers child safety education programs for youth ages 5-14, focusing on personal safety, bullying awareness, internet dangers, and effective communication. These initiatives are conducted in partnership with summer camp programs mostly offered by parks and recreation departments.

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 3 funders, grant income fell $34k → $15k.

2 of 7 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 5% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
