Funders to approach for Youth Corps

PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE - To provide a one-year course of practical, hands-on, on-site experiential leadership studies to transform the lives of 9th and 10th grade students so that they can in turn influence those around them in their families, schools, communities and beyond. PART III, LINE 28 - FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT - Participants experience nine dynamic modules in which they gain exposure, opportunity, and leadership and life skills. Each module is led by top community leaders and lasts one month. The modules include a leadership weekend, philanthropy and nonprofits, crimes, victims and justice, media and journalism, legislation and government, business and economics, investment and finance, career and higher education, and arts and culture. Students start their own businesses, help to pass an actual bill at the state house, help victims of crime, meet with young people behind the fence at DJJ, work with Columbias non-profits, interact with the world of journalism, and much more as they develop as…
