This organization is structured for philanthropic Jewish individuals to provide needy Jewish families and indigent persons with basic food supplements and discretionary direct financial assistance. The organization operates primarily under the DBA of Tomchei Shabbos of Los Angeles. "Tomchei Shabbos organizations have been founded in every major metropolitan area to enable Jews to help their impoverished brethren with their most basic food staples for Shabbos/Shabbat and holidays.
