01What it does

What Yarnell Regional Community Center does

Mission

To provide services and programs that promote health and wellness and to enhance the quality of life throughout the greater community.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2024 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.

Provide pet food and pay for veterinary services for pets of elderly low income and disabled community members. Although operating a thrift store is not a new program service it was not previously listed separately as a program service.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

  1. Provided 19,364 meals to elderly low income and disabled community members. 7,124 of the meals were delivered to the clients homes by 15 volunteer drivers. Our Meals on Wheels program covers 400 square miles. 12,240 of the lunch meals were served in our cafe. The congregate meal setting allows our community members a great opportunity to network and reduces the feeling of isolation for community members living alone.

$235,775 spent$38,162 earned by the program
    74% of program spending
  2. Operated thrift store with 5,616 volunteer hours. All items sold were donated by the public. The thrift store allows community members to obtain low cost clothing and household items locally which improves the quality of life.

    $68,955 spent
    22% of program spending
  3. Provided pet food for 36 pets and veterinary services for 10 pets of our Meals on Wheels clients whom are elderly low income and disabled community members.

The 3 programs described on its FY2024 Form 990, listed largest first by expense. Program spending in total: $317,032.

2 of 7 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 18% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Yarnell Regional Community Center’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Yarnell Regional Community Center leans on a few funders — its largest provides 38% of grant income and the top three 90%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

64% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Yarnell Regional Community Center.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $49k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
