01What it does

What Worldventures Foundation does

Mission

Worldventures Foundation serves children and their communities globally by teaming with like-minded organizations to identify needs and to implement sustainable solutions. That mission has endured through the evolution of our organization and seismic shifts in the geopolitical climate of our world. Today we touch the lives of children across 25 countries and counting. With volunteers we breathe life into our vision through their volunteer efforts and donations. Our work is founded on a commitment to accountability and transparency so donors know their support yields on-the-ground results with no waste. We carefully allot resources, choose programs and build affiliate relationships to ensure our volunteer and donor efforts are relevant.

As stated on its FY2019 Form 990.

Program

Hug it forward bottle schools - Worldventures Foundation facilitates education and awareness around improved trash management methods via the construction of bottle classrooms called bottle schools. Worldventures Foundation works to support and empower communities in guatemala to build bottle schools through our partnership with hug it forward, a multilcultural organization at the grassroots level in the region of latin america, with an emphasis in guatemala. Bottle schools are constructed using eco-bricks, which are plastic bottles stuffed with inorganic trash. During the project process, entire communities come together to build a more environmentally responsible educational space for their future.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990, which lists programs largest first by expense.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 7% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of WORLDVENTURES FOUNDATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

WORLDVENTURES FOUNDATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 93% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Where its funders are

100% of WORLDVENTURES FOUNDATION's grant income comes from Texas funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $699 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
