01What it does

What Wolly Kitten Club does

Mission

Wolly Kitten Club is a mostly volunteer organization dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals. We rescue, foster, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned cats and kittens in the greater houston area. We receive animals from local shelters, through public requests for help and through rescue by our volunteers. We provide shelter in our foster homes, nutrition, supplements, veterinary care including vaccines and sterilization, medications and socialization (if needed) to restore their health so they can be adopted. The majority of our cats and kittens are served through our foster-to-transport program while community cats and those not socialized to humans are t/n/r'd (trapped/neuter/release). Even though we did not incorporate until 2021, we have maintained animal records for the past 7 years. From january 1, 2018 to december 31, 2025 our organization served 4,333 cats and kittens with a 99.15% save rate.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Foster-to-transport program: due to the significant animal overpopulation in southeast texas and lack of local adopters, we have partnered with a local transport organization and a receiving rescue organization in minnesota to find homes for our foster cats and kittens. In 2025, we rescued, fostered and provided veterinary care to 782 cats and kittens who were then transported to minnesota to be adopted into loving homes. In 2025, our average daily census was 75 cats and kittens and they stayed in our care an average of 35 days. However we are committed to fostering each cat or kitten for as long as necessary until they are ready for adoption, so there is no limit on how long they stay in foster care and they are never euthanized for space.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2021 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 9 funders, grant income rose $1k → $83k.

3 of 13 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 45% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of WOLLY KITTEN CLUB’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

WOLLY KITTEN CLUB has a broad base — no single funder exceeds 34% of grant income, and it takes 3 funders to reach half.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 3 funders to its left

60% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund WOLLY KITTEN CLUB.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $69k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

These figures are read directly from IRS Form 990 / 990-PF e-file XML: this organization’s own return for FY2025 (financials across 2021–2025), and the filings of 13 funders that report grants to it. “On record” means captured in the filings we have parsed — a funder that does not e-file, or whose grant detail is not itemized, will not appear. Filings run roughly 12–24 months behind. Trends on this page end at FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving; later years are shown and marked, and move no figure.
