What Ver International does
Mission
The organization was formed for the purpose of poverty alleviation in rural communities of developing countries through initiatives in education, health, and hygiene, and entrepreneurship, as well as any other lawful purpose. The services provided through the organization are primarily in Honduras; however, as the organization continues to grow, the goal is to expand to other countries in Central America. The organization is organized exclusively for charitable, literary, educational, and religious purposes, including the making of qualifying distributions for exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3).
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
Educational Programs - As part of the back-to-school initiative to promote education among vulnerable families, 250 children received a backpack full of supplies and partial uniform to return to class with the materials they needed in February. Ten students, from elementary to university level, received monthly scholarships to assist them in their educational journeys. Six additional students received an education stipend, which was a designated amount used to cover school materials twice during the school year. In coordination with local volunteers, free tutoring sessions were offered to elementary students in the community during the school year. Pastors were trained in several Christian Community Outreach trainings. The community of Buena Vista was in need of an additional classroom and second teacher for their overcrowded schoolroom filled with 60 children. VER built an additional class room and paid for a teacher's aid to assist with students who had fallen behind academically. These 60 students each received a children's book at their reading level as part of the back-to-school drive. A community English language course was given to a group of adults.
$0 spentHealth and Hygiene Programs - A local church with a Child Development Center was supported monthly with financial and volunteer support to continue operating their nutrition and mentorship programs. Free health clinics with volunteer medical doctors were sponsored and hosted in different communities. Local community leaders and students were trained and certified in a First Aid course. Through the Healthy Homes mentorship program, an impoverished family was selected and assisted through home repairs/construction and medical sponsorship. The children of Buena Vista community received medical checkups, eye exams, dental cleanings, and an emotions management workshop with psychology professionals. Several at-risk patients were support wtih medical sponsorships.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $81k to $103k (+27%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
99% of VER INTERNATIONAL’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (100% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 2 funders, grant income rose $61 → $10k.
2 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 42% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of VER INTERNATIONAL’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 4 of 5 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
VER INTERNATIONAL leans on a few funders — its largest provides 40% of grant income and the top three 98%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
70% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund VER INTERNATIONAL.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 98% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
VER INTERNATIONAL draws 52% of its grant income from funders outside Alabama, across 2 states in all.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $11k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
