What Venecias Foundation does
Mission
Our mission is to aid, support and comfort cancer patients and their families. Venecia's cancer diagnosis gave her a purpose. "Living your purpose... it's not always the easiest choice to make, but it will always be the most rewarding," she said. She focused on lifting the spirits of fellow cancer patients by providing Care Bags filled with items that were beneficial during her nine-year fight. Cancer warriors describe these Care Bags as receiving a comforting hug of support and a message of hope while fighting against cancer.
As stated on its FY2026 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be an incredibly stressful experience, often leaving patients unprepared for the lengthy hours of chemotherapy. To help ease this journey, Venecia's Foundation has developed Care Bags, which are filled with essential items to provide comfort during treatment. These Care Bags were inspired by Venecia's personal experience, and over the years, additional items have been included based on feedback from other cancer patients. Our Care Bags include a range of everyday items to make the chemotherapy treatments more bearable, including a soft blanket, lotion, eye drops, travel pillow, port pillow, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, journal/pen, puzzle book, sugar free candy, facial tissue, face mask, hand sanitizer, hand wipes, nonslip socks, Starbuck gift card and gas gift card. We collaborate closely with local cancer treatment centers in Northeast Alabama to distribute our Care Bags to newly diagnosed patients, ensuring they begin their fight against cancer with a Care Bag of Comfort. In 2025, we have provided 337 Care Bags to these courageous individuals. 206 Care Bags were delivered to our collaborative partners in Anniston, Gadsden, Ft. Payne and…

Gas Gift Cards, initially a successful component of our Care Bag Program, have now become a separate initiative due to high demand and increasing gas prices. By offering Gas Gift Cards, we aim to help patients keep crucial cancer treatment appointments by giving their wallet a small boost. Collaborating with local cancer treatment centers to distribute these Gas Gift Cards, Venecia's Foundation strives to support patients in need. This fiscal year we provided $19425 Gas Gift Cards - a total of 777 $25 gas cards. We strive to exceed our annual goal of $15000. Getting consistent treatment is the road to health, and cancer patients need assistance.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2024, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2024, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $60k to $73k (+23%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
99% of VENECIAS FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (100% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $18 → $137.
3 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is
VENECIAS FOUNDATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 77% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund VENECIAS FOUNDATION.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of VENECIAS FOUNDATION's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $23k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
