01What it does

What Truckers Emergency Assistance Responders does

Mission

Truckers Emergency Assistance Responders (tear) is a non-denominational nationwide 501(c)(3) charity relief fund that helps truck drivers with short-term immediate assistance due to carrier abandonment so they can get home with their pets and belongings.

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Queen of the road recognition awards - this is an annual awards and recognition event we host to identify outstanding drivers that deserve recognition. It is held during an annual truck show where we have a booth and require staffing for the week in addition to the awards, cash prises and gifts.

$38,359 spentof which $7,705 as grants
    64% of program spending
  2. Short term emergency assistance - we provide short term emergency assistance to longhaul truck drivers who are stranded on the road and have no way to get home with funds to do so. This can be in the form of a bus ticket, airpalne, rental car, or uhaul. We also give them money for gas, ground transportation, food and temporay shelter like a motel.

Each line starts at 100 in 2022, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2022, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 2% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Where its funders are

TRUCKERS EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE RESPONDERS draws 100% of its grant income from funders outside Florida, across 1 state in all.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $229 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
