01What it does

What Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network does

Mission

The Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network is a grassroots collective based in seattle dedicated to uplifting the leadership and well-being of black, indigenous, trans women/trans femmes of color. Through mutual aid, housing justice, and community organizing, twocsn works to dismantle systems of oppression and build liberatory models of care rooted in solidarity and self-determination.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. The house of constance is the only program we are currently operating. It is under renovation right now, so no residents are living in it. Accomplishments for 2024 were dealing with the flood, taking the interior of the house down to the studs, developing architectural plans for the renovation, and identifying new funding sources that will help us complete the renovation. Currently, around 30 volunteers were involved in this project, and the house will provide low cost housing to 8-10 community members once it is finished being renovated.

2 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 26% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is

TRANS WOMEN OF COLOR SOLIDARITY NETWORK leans on a few funders — its largest provides 56% of grant income and the top three 97%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund TRANS WOMEN OF COLOR SOLIDARITY NETWORK.
