01What it does

What The Virginia Charitable Gaming Association does

Mission

To promote higher business standards and better business methods, to encourage uniformity and cooperation among charitable gaming operators, and to educate regarding issues related to charitable gaming.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Conducting meetings throughout the state of virginia with charitable organizations who conduct charitable games to discuss the current rules and regulations of the virginia department of charitable gaming. These meetings serve as a forum for charitable organizations to become familiar with other charitable organizations across the state who also conduct charitable gaming to share ideas related to charitable gaming operations.

  2. To educate members of the virginia general assembly regarding the opinions and issues related to the charitable organization's charitable gaming activities.

  3. Publication of a quarterly newsletter as a follow-up to meetings with legislators and quarterly meetings with charities.

Each line starts at 100 in 2022, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2022, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

How concentrated its funding is

THE VIRGINIA CHARITABLE GAMING ASSOCIATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 46% of grant income and the top three 99%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

99% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE VIRGINIA CHARITABLE GAMING ASSOCIATION.
