What The Nomadic Bridge Inc Fka Home Ec Woodstock and Animal Welfare does
Mission
After several years of operation, the board members of the nomadic bridge (formerly home ec woodstock and animal welfare) have recognized the enormous potential to broaden our mission. While our local programs have remained intentionally small due to limited capacity, and focused solely on farm animals, our supporters have increasingly encouraged us to extend our reach. In response, we began forming partnerships with other sanctuaries and humanitarian relief organizations throughout the united states and abroad. These collaborations have allowed us to expand donations, share knowledge, strengthen best practices, and ultimately save more animals from cruelty and neglect. It also allowed us to address humanitarian needs by bridging resource and volunteer gaps.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
On its FY2024 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.
After much discussion with our board members, we expanded our animal welfare program to include animal rights organizations and sanctuaries around the world. Not only did we find greater success in raising funds for our hudson valley programs, but we also began new partnerships regarding advocacy for farm animals in other places. Since our inception, we have focused on animals - primarily on rescuing at risk farm animals and providing them with exceptional care for the rest of their lives. But in addition to farm animals, this year we began working with other animal organizations - those that assist street dogs in cambodia and bali, a wildlife conservation group in cambodia, wildlife organizations in the pacific northwest, and a sunbear sanctuary in malaysian borneo. We also launched new programs focusing on humanitarian assistance and environmental causes, with partners worldwide. By expanding our mission to cover other animal organizations, environmental causes, and humanitarian needs, we were able to raise more money than ever before.
Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).
Hudson valley animal welfare programsour initial focus, the hudson valley animal welfare program, is still going strong and is dedicated to preventing cruelty, abuse, and neglect, by providing a lifetime sanctuary for abandoned farm animals in the hudson valley, ny.our chicken program focuses on the rehabilitation of injured, abandoned, or neglected birds, while providing housing and caring for those rescued from distressing situations, giving them a lifetime of peace and a forever home. Some were abandoned in shopping center parking lots, others were dumped in the woods, and others were dropped off by individuals no longer able to provide proper care. We provide exceptional care for our chickens, and do not participate in breeding or exploitation of any kind. Our chicken operations are conducted on a multi-acre property in upstate new york, where each bird is provided with high quality food, safety, and veterinary care. Our chickens are housed in predator-proof coops, and forage on protected outdoor ranges to ensure the enrichment, welfare, and safety of our flock. The program is managed by gregg goodbrod, with additional support from dedicated volunteers who assist in care,…

With lebenshof odenwald in germany, the premier farm sanctuary in europe, we were able to secure funding for a new enclosure for their goats, pay vet bills for chickens and ducks, as well provide them with weeks of volunteer labor and sharing best practices. We took that knowledge to england to assist little cage fighters, a chicken welfare group working on rehoming battery hens, and we were able to fund a new emergency clinic, as well as ten days of volunteer work rehoming seventy-five ex-battery hens. Working with the angkor centre for conservation of biodiversity (accb), and were able to provide days of volunteering, as well as fund their labor costs to complete their breeding enclosure for the nearly extinct white shouldered ibis. The accb is recognized globally as one of the few organizations with successful breeding programs for the ibis and various nearly extinct turtles, and we were fortunate to fund and assist with their work. Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.

How concentrated its funding is

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE NOMADIC BRIDGE INC FKA HOME EC WOODSTOCK AND ANIMAL WELFARE.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 81% · 2023 58% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of THE NOMADIC BRIDGE INC FKA HOME EC WOODSTOCK AND ANIMAL WELFARE's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $501k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
