01What it does

What The Friends of Muscoot Inc does

Mission

The primary purpose of the organization is to support the muscoot farm, a farm located in westchester county, ny. The farm is a demonstration dairy farm that has been operating since the mid-1800's. The farm is comprised of 777 acres of land, several 1800's buildings, a turn of the century house, hundreds of acres of hay fields, pastures and gardens. The farm attracts people of all ages but the primary focus is making it a destination for children to enjoy and enhance their knowledge of nature and farms. The organization raises funds through donations, hosting the farmer's market and other seasonal events. The funds are used to support the farm by buying farm animals, farm equipment, educational supplies, funding employee training and supporting day-to-day needs.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of THE FRIENDS OF MUSCOOT INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of THE FRIENDS OF MUSCOOT INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $20k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
