01What it does

What Siloe Ministries Inc does

Mission

Provide medical care dental services and Christian counseling through our Mexican nonprofit wellness center Fundacion Comunitaria Siloe.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Siloe Ministries is a non-profit Christian organization serving in La Mision, Baja California and other poor communities in Mexico. We provide needy families with free health education, medical care and spiritual support in the name of Jesus Christ. We run a community clinic in La Mision, and host medical missions teams. Our medical staff is paid through the Fundacion Comunitaria Siloe based in Mexico.

    $118,282 spent

  2. Network of Medical Professionals--In 2023, Siloe significantly grew our network of healthcare professionals that partner with our clinic in La Mision. New practitioners from both sides of the border volunteered in our community family medicine and dental clinic, seeing hundreds of patients throughout the year. These key partnerships have continued into 2024.

  3. Expanded Dental Ministry--2023 saw the expansion of our dental ministry and the adoption of new medical equipment, making our dental clinic as professionally outfitted as any practices in the region. Thanks to various grants and donors, we were able to take on even more oral health and dental care in the La Mision valley. Siloe is the go-to dentistry option for the hard-working families of our community.

  4. Regular Counseling Services--In 2023 for the first time, Siloe Minitries was able to offer "in-house" Christian counseling on a weekly basis, thanks to our resident family counselors. No longer having to rely on visiting volunteer counselors, our ministry scheduled regular, free sessions with our counseling team. Christian counseling involves individual sessions, marriage counseling and family counseling.

The 4 programs described on its FY2023 Form 990-EZ. Program spending in total: $118,282.

Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base narrowed from 3 funders to 2 funders, grant income fell $15k → $14k.

2 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 40% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Siloe Ministries Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Siloe Ministries Inc leans on a few funders — its largest provides 49% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

40% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Siloe Ministries Inc.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 66% · 2021 65% · 2022 68% · 2023 100% — growing more concentrated.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

100% of Siloe Ministries Inc's grant income comes from California funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $35k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
