01What it does

What Shine Joplin does

Mission

To allow adults with disabilities to live a more meaningful life.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Shine Joplin increased their programming days to 4 days each week and since opening has more than doubled the number of adults with disabilities served. The five pillars of the program - faith development, service, work, fitness, and personal growth - continued to encourage members to live, serve, and work as members of the kingdom of god. Shine furthered relationships within the community through presentations at rotary and other civic organizations, participation in third thursdays and other craft fairs, hosting cookies & craft events, and serving others through projects benefiting a food bank, casa, the humane society, and others. Members ramped up their physical fitness by partnering with bloom fitness in a fun, innovative exercise program promoting lifelong fitness for adults with disabilities. Living lives of purpose and value as athletes, helpers, craftsman, scholars, friends, and worshipers. Shine is a community where adults with disabilities are engaged, honored, valued, and fulfilled.

2022 → 2023: the base held at 3 funders, grant income rose $16k → $22k.

1 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $16 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
