01What it does

What Rim Power Inc does

Mission

Rim power is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote an accessible world in which every wheelchair user is an integrated member of society - viewed as enabled rather than disabled.rim power was founded in 2016 by mohammad sayed, an inventor, entrepreneur and disability rights activist who has overcome physical and emotional wounds inflicted by wartime violence against civilians in his native afghanistan. Moh's mother died when he was 5 years old, and 11 days later, he became paralyzed when his house was destroyed. His father took him to an ngo-operated hospital, where he lived for seven years until an american nurse brought the 12-year-old to the u.s. To rebuild his life. He enrolled in nuvu, an innovation school for middle- and high-school students in cambridge, massachusetts and in 2016 graduated from cambridge rindge and latin school. During this time he invented and has since patented numerous adaptive tools for use by people in wheelchairs.

As stated on its FY2022 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. In 2015, the same year he earned his american citizenship, moh introduced his inventions for 3d-printed wheelchair accessories to president barack obama at the white house science fair.inspiring othersin the meantime, he began creating a series of comic book characters with physical challenges, whose stories could be used to rebuild hope and empowerment in wheelchair users worldwide. Unlike traditional action heroes, moh's comic book characters are peace heroes based on reallife stories of wheelchair users in the developing world who are challenging the status quo. They use non-violence to fight for equality, justice and freedom, often in regions where individuals with disabilities may be shamed or hidden from public view. His first comic book (and companion coloring book), wheelchair man, published in 2017, was based on moh's own life story. This superhero has the ability to show the damage of planned crimes to would-be terrorists before their crimes are committed. Wheelchair man uses his powers not only to prevent harm but to help others who have experienced their own losses due to the brutality of war. Wheelchair man 2: captain afghanistan, published in 2018, is based on moh's…

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $26 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
