What Redding Trail Alliance Inc does

Mission

To create high quality trail experiences by advocation for, building and maintaining trails which are progressive, diverse and promote community.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. Redding trail alliance continuted to expand its organizational capacity and community impact through trail stewardship, recreation development, volunteer engagement and regional partnerships. To help sustain and grow core programs (including trail maintenance, trail planning, trail construction, events, partnerships and the adopt-a-trail volunteer program) the organization launched a new membership program that allows community members to financially support and stay connected to rta through membership opportunities and community meetings. Rta continued to address significant trail maintenance needs throughout the region despite limited land manager capacity, leveraging strong volunteer support to keep trails safe, accessible and sustainable. In partnership with the blm, rta also helped train 8 new vouuteer sawyers to support ongoing stewardship efforts. Two new trails were completed, designed to improve recreation access and user experience.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 2 funders, grant income fell $71k → $342.

3 of 10 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 9% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $38k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
