What Rainbow Pride of West Virginia Inc does
Mission
Our mission is to organize LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) social and educational events while providing a forum for issues important to our community and supporters. Through community participation and outreach we aim to raise awareness involving social, scientic and health related information. Through visibility and representation we aim to positively contribute to the communities in which we live.

Programs
State-wide Pride Pageant, held in Charleston, WV on May 14,2022. Contestants of the pageant are from throughout state. The contestants competed for the following title holders: Miss Rainbow Pride of WV, Mr. Rainbow Pride of WV, Miss Rainbow Pride of WV Femme, and Mr. Rainbow Pride of WV King. The pageant represents the best of drag performances and culture in the state. The attendance at the pageant was 125. Drag is historically a LGBTQ art form. The pageant provides a safe and educatonal venue to showcase the best drag in West Virginia.

The publication has contact informaton on over 60 community organizations, non-profit organizaitons and businesses who are allies of the LGBTQ community. The Pride Guide has articles on the Parade Grand Marshal, the Power of One recipients, Festival Headliners and other articles concerning issues of the LGBTQ community. Rainbow Pride of WV distributed 2000 copies of the publication throughout the state.
