01What it does

What Purpose Youth Foundation does

Mission

We envision a generation of young women who, with support of mentors and access to a spectrum of educational resources, are empowered with the self-esteem, competence, and independence they need to live and thrive as whole, confident young women, even in the face of life's difficulties. Through targeted community and outreach services designed for at-risk youth, we empower adolescent girls with tools to overcome personal challenges and achieve success in every area of their lives.

As stated on its FY2020 Form 990-EZ.

Program

The Purpose Youth Foundations princess leadership academy was created to develop strong confident young female leaders. This academy is for young ladies between the ages of 13 and 19. Monthly workshops are put on where participants are mentored in topics needed for successful leadership.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.

How concentrated its funding is

PURPOSE YOUTH FOUNDATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 63% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

63% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund PURPOSE YOUTH FOUNDATION.

These figures are read directly from IRS Form 990 / 990-PF e-file XML: this organization’s own return for FY2020 (financials across 2020–2020), and the filings of 2 funders that report grants to it. “On record” means captured in the filings we have parsed — a funder that does not e-file, or whose grant detail is not itemized, will not appear.
