01What it does

What Punx With Purpose does

Mission

Punx With Purpose provides firsthand perspective on the challenges threatening our youth today. Peers with lived experience will empower the youth of Marion and Polk Counties by meeting them where they are. PWP seeks to create community and provide safer spaces where our youth can gather and receive the resources they need to succeed as they grow into functional community members.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

Punx with Purposes Epic Mobile Outreach Services EMOS are geared toward youth ages 11-18 and meet with youth in various cities and provide youth access to clothing food and hygiene products. In 2024 EMOS did popup events in Keizer Salem Independence Rickreall and Falls City serving 200 youths. Punxgiving Punxmas Holiday events are two additional opportunities to provide youth with badly needed supplies and a Christmas gift up to $75.00 per youth. We also provide food and school supplies to youth in schools across Marion and Polk counties. Each school gets $200 worth of supplies and any youth between the ages of 11 and 18 are able to access them after a short survey is completed. Punx in the Park served over 800 youth in a single day Punk Rock themed resource fair. The event gave out over 1000 meals,1000 school supplies and 1700 pieces of clothing. Stormies Place youth drop-in center went from 41 youth in February to almost 400 in October and is open 3 days a week.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990, which lists programs largest first by expense.

02Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.

3 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 38% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Punx With Purpose’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Punx With Purpose leans on a few funders — its largest provides 50% of grant income and the top three 84%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

97% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Punx With Purpose.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration.
