What Phandeeyar Foundation does
Mission
Phandeeyar is a community tech hub that is spearheading the development of Myanmar's tech and social innovation ecosystem. Phandeeyar does this in two ways: firstly, by building the pool of tech talent, supporting local digitally-enabled enterprises, and training founders; and secondly, by helping change agents use technology to increase the impact of their work.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Phandeeyar Services. Phandeeyar is building the pool of local technical talent and digitally enabled enterprises that can develop the digital products and services that Myanmar needs. We support promising businesses, and through our flagship projects help aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their companies. We also run classes, workshops, and hackathons to help developers and designers to improve their skills, as well as programs to help organizations adapt to the digital transformation and develop innovative solutions.

We ran workshops, seminars, and meetups to help independent voices thrive in Myanmar's digital media environment. Phandeeyar also helped address some of the training to help people understand how to safely and responsibly use social media. Phandeeyar supported community organizations that wanted to use social media and digital content to promote positive messages about peace, tolerance, and inter-communal harmony.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $1.3M to $813k (−39%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 40% · 2021 48% · 2022 21% · 2023 56% · 2024 52%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
94% of PHANDEEYAR FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (97% for the typical peer).

From the IRS filings of PHANDEEYAR FOUNDATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
PHANDEEYAR FOUNDATION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 54% of grant income and the top three 98%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
98% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund PHANDEEYAR FOUNDATION.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 72% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
