01What it does

What Paws of la Rescue does

Mission

To rescue shelter, abandoned and neglected dogs and find appropriate permanent homes through adoption, education and awareness to the public about the understanding of humane animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Paws of L.A. Rescue has one program called Foster-to-Adopt. Where an interested family fills out an Adoption Application, but starting out as a Foster parent to the dog with the intent to Adopt the dog. Before being accepted into the program, the family must complete the Adoption Application, Video Interview, Home Check and Meet & Greet with the dog.Under this program Paws of L.A. Rescue covers: medical costs (including spay/neuter, vet visits, medical tests, medications and grooming), supplies, premium food/treats and most importantly training sessions with a CCPDT (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers). Training sessions can be in person or virtual.

  2. There are many check-ins with the family on the dogs progress regarding their health, behavior, training updates, and overall adjustment to the home before an Adoption Contract/Agreement is OK to be sent for signature. There is no time constraint for this program, as the rescue takes the time to ensure things the dog is acclimating, its a good match and that the parents are receptive to training guidance with trainers feedback, therefore lowering the possibility of a dog returned to our care post Adoption. Since inception, no dogs adopted out have been returned to the rescue organization.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of PAWS OF LA RESCUE’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of PAWS OF LA RESCUE's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
