01What it does

What Orchard Lane Parent Faculty Council does

Mission

To promote the welfare of the children at Orchard Lane School by promoting a close relationship between home and school while promoting financing for non-budgeted items which enhance the academic, physical and social growth of those children.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. The third largest item supported is the PFC run High Interest Day event. Funds are used to help cover costs of supplies and presenter fees. During this day we have community groups and parents provide different types of activities that the kids can choose to participate in. The day exposes the students to new sports, arts, crafts and hobbies that they may otherwise not be exposed to allowing them to experience many different things that they may be interested in.

    $6,382 spent
    23% of program spending
  2. The largest expense for the PFC the Journey Into the Arts. In this program we hired an artist to come into the school and design a new piece of art for the front of the school. The artist then worked with the student to create the art. Every student was able to participate in creating the art that is now installed on the front of the school. The project has refreshed the school appearance and the students are all proud to have contributed.

    $13,501 spent
    48% of program spending
  3. The second largest expense was for class field trips. The PFC was able to pay for all class field trips this year. Field trips benefit students by enhancing academic learning through hands-on experiences, improving social and emotional development by fostering teamwork and communication, and sparking curiosity and motivation for learning. They provide real-world context for classroom lessons, expose students to new environments and cultures, and can even boost long-term academic performance

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 65% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Orchard Lane Parent Faculty Council’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Orchard Lane Parent Faculty Council leans on a few funders — its largest provides 65% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

65% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Orchard Lane Parent Faculty Council.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Where its funders are

65% of Orchard Lane Parent Faculty Council's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $725 that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Wisconsin funders.

WI

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
