What On Fire Ministries does
Mission
Transforming Yakima through our youth.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Program
On Fire Ministries (OFM) began its first year at Outreach Camp at Ghormley Meadows in June 24. Over 130 kids, 4-5th graders, attending a three-day free camp in the Cascade Mountains. Witnessing the overwhelming response of students standing for the first time in the hope and love of Jesus, birthed a quickening to the obvious question of now what? Within the next few months a Board was formed, established a sister relationship with !st Pres for use their gym/kitchen on Saturday nights, enrolled volunteers, began a campaign to raise the equivalent of a $100,000 annual budget, did direct mailing, door to door canvasing, fed over 200 at Thanksgiving, handed out hundreds of Christmas gifts, built an ongoing relationship with United Way, spoke to numerous groups about the possibilities of partnering with OFM.All very exciting and evolutionary. Before the end of 2024, we were posturing for an increase in the annual budget to $180,000. Feeding and ministering on Saturday nights to 100 students and adults. Searching for locations to simplify and accommodate the changing dynamic.Yet, what is the price of the one? Out here on the streets of East Yakima, there are thousands of families…
The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.
Who funds it, year by year
Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.
2 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 60% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of On Fire Ministries’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
On Fire Ministries leans on a few funders — its largest provides 40% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund On Fire Ministries.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
60% of On Fire Ministries's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $10k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Washington funders.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $15k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
